School Rankings from the 2025 Kangaroo Math Challenge.
School rankings are based on points awarded for participation in Round 1, participation in the Finals and performance in the Finals.
The scoring rules are as follows:
- Round 1: 5 points per student (maximum of 500 points per age group per school).
- Finals Participation: 10 points per student with a non-zero score.
- Finals Performance: 1st place = 50 points, 2nd = 45, 3rd = 40, 4th = 35, 5th = 30, 6th = 25, 7th = 20, 8th = 15, 9th = 10, 10th = 8, 11th = 6, 12th = 4, 13th and above = 2 points.
For ties, we use dense ranking, which means places are not skipped. For example, if two students tie for 1st place, both receive 50 points and the next student is ranked 2nd (receiving 45 points). This same approach is used at the awards ceremony when determining the top 12 scores.
